The Food Safety Certificate (Level 3)

The Food Safety Certificate (Level 3) offers learners food safety and hygiene training in a real café environment. It is a practical based training programme that will allow you to gain the skills necessary to become a café assistant or food handler.

This programme will provide you with the knowledge and essential practical skills as well as the confidence to step straight into a role in the hospitality industry and hit the ground running. We teach you the basics of food safety and hygiene within a commercial environment. You will receive a food safety certificate which most food businesses will look for when employing staff.

The programme is based in Asquith Café which is an operational training facility and will be 80% practical based learning with 20% theory.

Programme Structure/Courses

The Food Safety Certificate covers one unit standard.

27955 – Apply food safety practices in a food related business (level 3, Credits 5, V1)

Successfully completing this unit standard and the practical sessions will give you the skills required to gain employment in the hospitality industry as a food handler or café assistant within the hospitality industry.

Class times: 9.00am to 3.00pm, Monday and Wednesday.

Entry Requirements

IELTS 5.0 with no band less than 5.0 / TOEFL iBT 35 (with a writing score of 14) / PToE academic score of 36 /AIS TEP 44/80 or equivalent with no band less than 11; and
16 years and over
